About Me and My Family

My name is Karen Kortman and my husband is Gary. We've been married over -8 years and have 2 children. Our son, Andy and his wife, Jacki have blessed us with a grandson, Maxwell. Our daughter, Erin, and her husband Dan have also blessed us with two granddaughters, Delaney and Brooklyn.

I began making quilts over 20 years ago. After a few years of making quilts for myself, I decided to begin teaching a "Trip Around the World" quilt class. My first class was in January of 1994 and everyone started and finished their quilts that same day. One class led to another and I began scheduling classes weekly and have now taught over 300 classes.

In 2005, I decided to take quilting to another level. After much research and determination, my husband and I purchased a Gammill Optimum Quilting Machine with a Statler Stitcher. I now machine quilt for others with the help of this wonderful machine and a computer. My machine was delivered in May of 2005 and I now quilt over 150 quilts per year for others as well as for charity projects and my local quilt guild.

Thank you for taking the time to view my website. I look forward to quilting for you! Feel free to call or email with any questions you may have. Oh, and if you're ever in my area, don't hesitate to call me, or stop by to see my Statler Stitcher at work!

Stitching Continuously,
Karen
